Domain

A domain name is one of the elements of the address in the Domain Name System (DNS) that allows you to find websites, servers, etc., on the internet. The domain, like the DNS, translates IP addresses of services into a common name. For example, the IP address 8.8.8.8 leads to the public server google.com.

Before the implementation of the DNS system in 1983, users accessed different addresses on computer networks using the host's numeric address. Each computer on the network could access the host's files through these numeric addresses.

However, this process was not very scalable and made public access difficult. Therefore, the domain name system was introduced in ARPANET, a project that was essentially the foundation of the internet
